About Us:
George Hoff:
The day after a lucky night at the casino George and Brandi took a tour of the Niagara on the Lake wine region that changed their lives. After a disappointing rain out from a flight over the falls they set out on a charmingly chauffeured tour of a few local wineries. The clouds gave way to sun drenched fields of grain nestled alongside numerous vineyards ( a sight very familiar to one few and far between for the Kansans). The real turning point beyond just a trip to a wine region for George was the real people in the winery. From the first family winery to the last, the people were amazingly connected to each other, the land, community, and the winery; the large corporate entities had good wine yet lacked the personability and charm. Being the ambitious persistent driven person he is George had a dream for his family and their 150 year old farm, and through many years of perseverance and support has brought a great local wine experience to his hometown.
Frank Hoff:
One fateful harvest day on their farm near Kincaid, Frank was taken for a ride in a combine he'll never forget. While attempting to cross a dangerous overgrown intersection in his John Deere 6600 he was struck by a train before he could react. First it tore the platform from the front, then turned it 180 degrees smashing the rear like a tin can, and turned it on its side. Frank crawled out the broken window unscathed and began to sort out the mess with George. After the dust settled and the two finished out the night in the remaining combine (which they used a part from the wreck to fix) Frank turned to George and said lets give this vineyard thing a try.
Thomas Hoff Jr.:
After spending months cleaning up hurricane damage in 2005 Tommy returned home ready to start something new. He was torn between starting a disaster cleanup business and the idea of starting a vineyard with his cousins. After approaching Tom Sr. with both ideas he agreed to the idea of a vineyard on the condition of not starting a disaster cleanup. Tommy opted to start-up a successful lawn company while the three began the vineyard with dreams of a winery of their own.
